It is our secure student support website dedicated to helping CG Aux students succeed and is provided 100% free of charge to members of the USCG Auxiliary.^® To access SOCRATES, the USCG Auxiliary member must submit his or her member number and Flotilla number. As such, if an Auxiliary member discontinues serving in the USCG Auxiliary, access to SOCRATES^® is terminated.

SOCRATES has links to thousands of resources to help students succeed, including hundreds of semester hours of tuition-free courses from many of the best universities in the nation, including Hollywood-style courses that bring the subjects to life on the screen for visual learners and cameras in the classrooms of past academic terms for auditory learners - students can use these to augment the instruction they receive from their university or earn credit by exam accepted by thousands of accredited colleges and universities nationwide (82% or more); Links to dozens of sources for textbooks where Aux members can purchase or rent textbooks for a fraction of the new cost or possibly even download them free of cost; Links to dozens of sites that match USCG Aux member profiles to sources of scholarships and grants; Free remedial English and Math courses for those who need to sharpen their basic academic skills; introspective self-assessment tools, and much more!
